Integ Blade

Brief

In response to the increasing demand for flexibility and adjustment in multi desking and activity based office situations Integ approached Blender to develop the Blade: A new solution which enables people to easily adjust their flat screen computer monitors. Check out the video here

Outcome

The Blade offers the stability of a fixed monitor arm, combined with easy vertical movement.

Geared towards optimum ergonomic conditions and health and safety standards, the Blade enables users to effortlessly adjust their monitor without leaving their chair (fingertip vertical adjustment through a range of 170mm, forward and backwards tilt and 360 degrees of rotation). Constructed from extruded and powder coated aluminium, injection molded reinforced nylon and engineered internal components, the Blade is in a class of its own.

Having built several test rigs to trial cable management, we reached a solution that enables full vertical and rotational adjustment without cables getting caught or being visible in front of the monitor. There is honesty about the design and, far from hiding the details; users can clearly see how it works.
