7.7m Cabin RIB

Sealegs were looking to broaden the market for their amphibious craft and approached Blender to develop a Cabin boat based on the existing Sealegs 7.1m RIB. The Cabin boat was aimed at the everyday recreational user. The design needed to be appealing to the market and offer various additional features not found in the basic models.

Utilising composite construction and new manufacturing and assembly techniques, the Cabin RIB is an appealing, user friendly design packed full of features. The extra protection from the elements gives an added feeling of security and safety not found in the open plan RIB’s. With this added protection and the modern design the product appeals to a much boarder market.

Blender worked with the Sealegs team to integrate all the required electrical and mechanical systems into the new layout and resolve technical issues without impacting on the overall design and functionality. Blender produced various scale prototypes, full-scale ergonomic layouts and realistic renders to prove the final concept. The final cabin design was then machined from foam and Blender worked with the manufacturing team to create the required fiberglass plugs and manufacture procedure for the cabin.
