BriefHaving worked with Pet-corp on a full range of cat and dog doors to combat the unattractive, unreliable, and hard to install doors on the market, our aim for this product was to create an innovative ‘dog door for the future’.
Intended predominantly for the US market, it needed to solve a number of problems which existing doors had.
The PC12 uses the latest RFID technology and an innovative waterproof collar key that allows access to only certain, approved, pets. One of the key features of the PC12, that sets it apart from the market, is the innovative removable cartridge system: a world first.
Other products boast programmes with countless features that consumers rarely utilise, we have focused on producing a door that is easy to use, easy to install and looks great in the home.
The drive mechanism we designed from scratch and subjected to rigourous testing with numerous gear ratios, bearings and sensors, to ensure it performed beyond expectations. Development on the internal mechanism meant that we could simplify assembly and reduce production costs, which was critical to the product entering the market at a competitive price point.
